And we have 4 adults going as counselors.
Pray for everyone to have a great time making memories & friends, and growing their faith.

New Outreach Project

We need people to plan & shop, prep & cook, and transport & serve the meals each month. Contact Kim Hull for more details or click to sign up here.

June Blessing Box
Let's gather canned fruit (preferably with pull top lids) and travel size packets of tissues for our neighbors.

Bake Sale Impact
The amazing Forest Park community embraced a Sunday school bake sale put on by our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders with such enthusiasm and generosity we went beyond our goal of $760 to purchase 1 cell phone and 1 year of cell service for a refugee camp in South Sudan by raising $2100 so that more could be done.
The camp was established for 2500 refugees. It is extremely crowded now with approximately 27,000 refugees. We are in contact with and aiding a community of approximately 100 people within the camp who are especially vulnerable because they are gay or have family members who are gay. At least a fourth of this community is made up of children.
This is the rainy season in South Sudan and the pit toilets throughout the desperately overcrowded camp have filled and overflowed in some places leading to an outbreak of cholera. The camp was established with 1 pit toilet for every 100 people so our friends within the camp had only 1 toilet and were very concerned about cholera breaking out in their part of the camp. Here is an excerpt from our camp contact person on how our money is being used:
"First good news is that your Abundant, Glorious, Fabulously Generous check arrived this week!! On behalf of myself and the entire South Sudan community, please convey our Heart-felt thanks to everyone involved! Not only is there enough for a new phone & data, I will also be able to fund another power pack for re-charging, as well as help fund the new toilets and washing stations."
Our contact person says they are working hard with the washing stations to teach the children hand-washing to help protect them from cholera and that they are thrilled with 2 new toilets to have separate sanitation areas for men and women. This is practical community building for beloved community across barriers, boundaries and cultures. When Jesus said, "The kingdom of heaven is like...".this is what he was talking about!
